Bolivia - weather in October

October in Bolivia is a spring month. October is the hottest month of the year in the north, because later the rains arrive, but also in the center-south it is often the month with the highest temperatures during the day, and also the one in which the hottest days of the year occur.
In the northern plains, occupied by the forest, where it is hot all year round (see Cobija, Riberalta), the average daily temperatures are 27/28 °C (81/82 °F). Cool air can rarely arrive, and at night the temperature can drop to 15 °C (59 °F) or a little below, although this does not happen every year. The rains increase compared to the previous months, and become quite frequent. However, when it doesn't rain, it can get very hot during the day, and in the worst moments the temperature can reach 38/39 °C (100/102 °F).
In the central and southern plains, in the Gran Chaco, occupied by the savannah, the average temperatures are similar, however, the variations are greater than in the north, in fact, cool weather is more likely on some days, while heat waves can be very intense, and the heat records are 43/44 °C (109/111 °F). The rains are a little more frequent than in September, but the rainy season hasn't started yet.
In the Andes (see La Paz, Sucre, Lake Titicaca, Salar de Uyuni), the temperatures rise a little compared to the previous months, however, at night it is still cold at high altitudes, and above the 3,500 meters (11,500 feet), the temperature can drop below freezing.
