Africa
In November, in the Red Sea it's sunny and warm, especially in the first half of the month. The monsoon begins to retreat from North Africa.
Where to go: Cape Verde, Egypt (Red Sea), Djibouti, Guinea-Bissau, Togo
Asia
The retreating monsoon brings heavy rains in south-eastern India and on the exposed slopes of Thailand and Indonesia. It's the last month in which typhoons typically occur in Southeast Asia and cyclones in the North Indian Ocean.
Where to go: Jordan (Red Sea), Israel (Red Sea)
North and Central America
It's the last month of hurricanes and tropical cyclones in the Gulf of Mexico and in Central America. The temperature begins to decrease and the north-east trade winds begin to blow, at least up to the latitude of Mexico. The trade winds bring heavy rains on the exposed slopes, eg along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico and of the countries of Central America, while on the Pacific side they bring hot and sunny weather.
Caribbean Sea
Thanks to the return of the northeast trade winds, the heat and the rains decrease on the northern islands, while the rains remain abundant on the central and southern islands, actually they increase in the Leeward Antilles. The rains are significant also on the northern slopes of the larger islands which have mountains in the interior (for example, on the north side of the Dominican Republic and of Puerto Rico). It's the last month of the hurricane season.
South America
The dry season continues in the north-east of Brazil.
Where to go: Brazil (Fortaleza, Natal, Recife, Salvador)
Oceania
The hot season begins in the Southern Hemisphere, with some risk of heavy rains, and in some cases of tropical cyclones. There is nothing left but to go to the Equator, where there is no risk of cyclones, but you must also choose the islands where it does not rain too much.
Where to go: Kiribati, Nauru, French Polynesia (Marquesas Islands)
