Africa
In May, the rains have reached the Gulf of Guinea. In the Red Sea it begins to be too hot. In the Canaries, the sun shines, but the temperature of the sea is still a bit cool. In Morocco, the Atlantic sea is cold, and along the coast there are fogs and mists in the morning.
Where to go: Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal
Asia
The continent is too hot in the southern part, waiting for the monsoon, which is already affecting the islands and the southernmost coasts. On the southernmost islands of Japan, the sea is quite warm, but the rains are frequent and the amount of sunshine is not high.
North and Central America
In Florida it's hot and thunderstorms begin to occur. In central and southern Mexico, the sultry heat begins to be felt, but you can still go. In Central America, by now the rainy season has started.
Where to go: Bermuda, Mexico (Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, Riviera Maya)
Caribbean Sea
The hot season begins, which means an increase of sticky heat and rain throughout the area, with the exception of both the southernmost and northernmost islands, where the weather is still acceptable. The hurricane season starts in June, but sometimes some tropical storms off season can form.
Where to go: Bahamas, Leeward Antilles (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao), Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela (islands)
Mediterranean Sea
By the middle of the month, it begins to be warm on the south coast, in the countries of North Africa and eastern Mediterranean, even though the sea is still a bit cold.
South America
In the tropical zone, there are still widespread rains, while it is autumn in the subtropical zone.
Oceania
In the Southern Hemisphere it's the last month of the hot season, and tropical cyclones are still possible, therefore, it's better to look at the Northern Hemisphere, at the Equator or on the islands located at southern latitudes, but quite to the south.
Where to go: Hawaii, Nauru, New Caledonia, Tonga (central and southern part)
