Venezuela - weather in March

March is the first month of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, which is the hottest season in Venezuela, a country located just north of the Equator. March is almost everywhere a hot, dry and sunny month.
We are at the end of the dry season, and with the sun's rays getting stronger and stronger, it is very hot in many areas. In particular, this is the hottest month of the year in the inland areas of the north (see the states of Cojedes, Carabobo, Guárico, Barinas, Portuguesa, Apure). In hotter cities, average daily temperatures can exceed 30 °C (86 °F). On the hottest days, the temperature can reach 40 °C (104 °F).
Rainfall is rare, however, in the southeast, in the macro-region called Venezuelan Guayana, occupied by the forest, there are areas where the climate is equatorial and it rains even this month. In particular, in the far east, in the Orinoco delta area, the rains are quite frequent, even though we are in the relatively dry season, which runs from February to April. In the extreme south, in the Amazon forest (see San Carlos de Río Negro), the rains are frequent and abundant also in this period, though less than in the rest of the year, while further north, in the northern part of the forest (see San Fernando de Atabapo), where in the previous months the rains were rare, now they begin to increase.
Also in the west, in the mountains, in Mérida, the rains become more frequent.

The sea is warm enough for swimming, even though we are in the period of the year when it is relatively cooler.
