Bolivia - weather in May

May in Bolivia is an autumn month.
In the northern plain areas, occupied by the forest, where it is hot all year round (see Cobija, Riberalta), the temperatures are still high, in fact the daily average is 25/26 °C (77/79 °F). However, the rains decrease compared to the previous months, in fact we are approaching the relatively dry period, which runs from June to August. Sometimes, some cool air can arrive, and at night the temperature can drop to 15 °C (59 °F) or a little below. During the day, on the other hand, it can get very hot, and the temperature can reach 35 °C (95 °F).
In the central-southern plains, in the Gran Chaco, occupied by the savannah, the average temperatures are a little lower, around 22/23 °C (72/73 °F), but even here it can sometimes be very hot during the day. Sometimes cold air can arrive from the south, especially at the end of the month, which can lower the night temperature to about 10 °C (50 °F).
In the Andes (see La Paz, Sucre, Lake Titicaca, Salar de Uyuni), the period begins, which lasts until September, in which temperatures are lower at night, and above 3,500 meters (11,500 feet) usually drop below freezing. On the other hand, it is a dry and sunny period.
