Bolivia - weather in March

Map with cities - Bolivia

March in Bolivia is the last summer month.
In all the lowlands, both in the north, occupied by the forest, where it is hot all year round (see Cobija, Riberalta), and in the central-south, in the Gran Chaco, occupied by the savannah, it is a hot and sultry month, and we are also in the rainy period, even though the rains are a little less frequent than in January and February. Sometimes it can get very hot, and the temperature can reach 35/36 °C (95/97 °F) in the north and 38/40 °C (100/104 °F) in the center-south.
Even in the Andes (see La Paz, Sucre), where the temperature varies according to the altitude, we are still in the mildest and wettest period of the year. However, here the rains are generally not abundant, and here too they are a little less frequent than in January and February. The least rainy area is the western one, near the border with Chile and Peru (see Lake Titicaca and the Salar de Uyuni). However, at high altitudes it gets cold at night, and above 3,500 meters (11,500 feet), the temperature can drop below freezing.
