Winter, from December to February, is mild.
There are many sunny days, in which the air is mild during the day, but quite cold at night. Also, in periods of good weather, fog can form at night and in the early morning.
However, there are also periods of bad weather, with wind and rain.
Very cold days are rare, however, on the coldest nights of the year, the temperature generally drops to freezing or nearly so.
The cold record is -5.5 °C (22 °F) and was recorded in February 1954. After the year 2000, the temperature dropped to -3 °C (26.5 °F) in January 2005 and to -2 °C (28.5 °F) in February 2012. However, even during the coldest days, it is very rare for the maximum to remain below 10 °C (50 °F).
Snow in Huelva is extremely rare. The last time that the city was covered in a white blanket was in February 1954.

Summer, from June to mid-September, is very hot and sunny, with very rare rains.
However, there are different periods, because the currents from the ocean (which remains cool even in summer) sometimes prevail, while at other times the currents blow from the interior, where there are scorching temperatures. And so, there may be periods with highs around 25 °C (77 °F), and others with highs around 35 °C (95 °F) and more. On the hottest days of the year, the temperature normally reaches 40 °C (104 °F).
The heat record is 44.5 °C (112 °F), recorded in July 2004. In 2016, the temperature reached 42 °C (107.5 °F) in early September.

To visit Huelva you can choose the months of April, May and October, to avoid the summer heat and the winter rains, even though in these months it can sometimes rain. In summer it can be very hot, but you can take refuge on the beach.
