Climate chart - Sestola
The climate of Sestola is temperate humid, influenced by the altitude, with cold winters and pleasantly warm summers. It can snow in winter, while thunderstorms can break out in summer. Spring and autumn are the rainiest seasons.
The town is located in central-northern Italy, in Emilia-Romagna, in the province of Modena, at an altitude of 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) and at the foot of Mount Cimone.

Sestola

The area is windy, since we are close to the Apennine ridge.
Sestola is one of the snowiest places in the Apennines. On average, 230 cm (90.5 in) of snow fall per year. It usually snows from December to March, but sometimes it can also snow in April and November, and occasionally even in May and October. However, in periods of mild weather, the snow can melt even in winter.
In summer, the weather is often good in the morning, then in the afternoon, cloud cover increases and thunderstorms can break out.

You can go to Sestola both in winter, perhaps for skiing, and in summer, perhaps for trekking in the mountains and to escape the heat of the plains.
The ski slopes range from 900 to 1,900 meters (2,900 to 6,200 feet). You can usually ski from December to March. However, there is not always enough snow to ski and the temperature is not always low enough, especially in December.
