Average weather, temperature, rainfall, sunshine hours

The climate of Dnipro (formerly Dnipropetrovsk) is
continental, with very cold winters, in which the temperature is often below freezing, and hot summers.
The city is located in south-central Ukraine, southeast of Kyiv, at 48 degrees north latitude, on the banks of the Dnieper River (or Dnipro).
Precipitation is not abundant, in fact, in Ukraine the rains decrease as we proceed from west to east and from north to south. From May to August, the rains are a little more abundant and can occur in the form of thunderstorms.
Winter is cold and gray. Snowfalls are frequent, but generally not abundant.
Sometimes there can be cold spells from Siberia, which were once more frequent and during which the temperature can drop to -20 °C (-4 °F) or even below. The coldest record is -30 °C (-22 °F) and was set in January 1950.
Summer is warm, with a good number of hours of sunshine and some thunderstorms, more frequent in the first part. Although the weather is usually not too hot, there can be very hot periods, usually of short duration, during which the temperature can reach or exceed 35 °C (95 °F). In August 2010, during an exceptional heat wave, it reached 40.9 °C (105.6 °F).
