The climate of Mersin is
Mediterranean, with mild, rainy winters and hot, sunny summers. However, the summer is very hot and muggy.
The city is located on the southern coast of Türkiye. To the east lies the Cilician plain (or Çukurova). To the north are the Central Taurus Mountains (or Bolkar Mountains), whose highest peak, Medetsiz, is 3,486 meters (11,437 ft) high.
