The climate of Konya is continental, with cold winters, during which the average temperature is close to freezing, and hot summers despite the altitude.
The city is located in Turkey, in the central-southern part of the Anatolian plateau, at almost 38 degrees north latitude and at 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) above sea level.
