Climate chart - Bukoba
Bukoba's climate is subtropical, tempered by altitude.
The city is located in the northwest of Tanzania, on the western shore of Lake Victoria, at an altitude of 1,140 meters (3,740 feet).
Temperatures are stable due to the latitude (we are just south of the equator) and the waters of the lake.
The rains are more abundant than in other areas of Tanzania because the lake supplies humidity to the prevailing winds, which come from the south-east.
There is no truly dry season, however there is a fairly dry period from June to August. Within the rainy season, from October to May, there are two wetter periods, a more intense one from March to May and a less intense one from October to December.
