Average weather, temperature, rainfall, sunshine hours

The climate of Galle is
tropical, hot all year round. There is no real dry season, however, there is a relatively dry period from January to March, and a rainy period from April to December.
Galle is a city of 93,000 inhabitants, located in the south-western coast of Sri Lanka, in the Southern Province, at 6 degrees north latitude. Nearby are places like Unawatuna, with Dalawella beach, and Koggala.
As mentioned,
temperatures are high all year round. The hottest period is from March to May, before the monsoon, when the temperature can reach 35/36 °C (95/97 °F).
The
rainy season, which as mentioned goes from April to December, can be divided into different phases.
The rains increase in April, the month in which the sun passes at the zenith in Sri Lanka, and even more in May, the first month of the
southwest monsoon, especially in this stretch of coast that is exposed to the southwest.
In the following months, until August, the rains are frequent, the wind blows often and the sea is rough.
From September to November there is another very rainy period, with a maximum in November. December is still a rainy month, but in the far south of Sri Lanka, the rains already decrease.
Sri Lanka is in the path of
tropical cyclones. Typically, on the Indian Ocean north of the Equator, cyclones occur from April to December, although Sri Lanka is usually only affected in November and December, and more rarely in May. In fact, usually in mid-May, sometimes there can be heavy rains, caused by cyclones that form in the Bay of Bengal, even if they are at the beginning of their life. However, since the sea is warm all year round, in theory they can also form from January to March, perhaps in a light form (such as tropical storms).
Best Time
The best time to visit Galle is
