The climate of Formentera is
Mediterranean, with mild, quite rainy winters and hot, sunny summers.
Together with Ibiza and some islets, Formentera forms the group of the Pityusic islands, the southwesternmost of the Balearics, and for this reason, more sheltered (compared to Mallorca and Menorca) from the north wind that blows from France.

Winter, from December to February, is mild, with many sunny days, but also with periods of rain and wind.
Very cold days are rare, however, on the coldest nights of the year, the temperature generally drops to 1/2 °C (34/36 °F).
Spring, from March to May, is mild, but it's a bit unstable, until April or mid-May, when windy and rainy days are possible, with a bit of cold at night as well.
Summer, from June to mid-September, is typically Mediterranean, ie hot and sunny, with very rare rains. During the day, the sea breeze gives some relief, but nights are sultry. Highs can sometimes reach 35/36 °C (95/97 °F), especially in July and August.
Autumn, from mid-September to November, is pleasantly warm at the beginning, and then becomes gradually milder. There can be long periods of good weather, but also periods of bad weather, with wind and rain.

sunshine in Formentera is very good in summer, when sunny days prevail, but the sun frequently shines also in spring. In autumn and winter, there is a moderate amount of sunny days, though in alternation with periods of bad weather.

Best Time
The
best period to go to Formentera for a beach holiday corresponds to the months of July and August. In June, the sun shines but the sea is still a bit cool. Typically, in the first half of September, the weather is still good, so you can still go, and sometimes also in the second half, but it depends on the year.
If you want to go on excursions on the island and visit cities, you can go in April and May.
