The winter, from December to February, is quite cold. At night, the temperature often drops below freezing, even though the temperature range is often considerable, so during the day the temperature can become mild.
However, there may sometimes be periods of snow and frosts. In fact, we are just north of an area subject to cold, called the "frost triangle", between the south-west of Aragon and the north-east of Castile-La Mancha, whose northern vertices are the towns of Molina de Aragón and Calamocha (south of Daroca), while in the southern vertex is the city of Teruel. In this area, during the most intense cold waves, with clear skies, snow on the ground and no wind, the temperature can drop below -25 °C (-13 °F). In Daroca, the temperature dropped to -22.5 °C (-8.5 °F) in December 1963, to -21 °C (-6 °F) in January 1945, to -20.5 °C (-5 °F) in January 1971, to -17 °C (1.5 °F) in January 1985, and to -18.5 °C (-1.5 °F) in January 2021. However, these values are rarely reached, in fact, on the coldest nights of the year, the temperature typically drops to around -8/-9 °C (16/18 °F).

The summer, from June to August, is hot and sunny, with rare thunderstorms.
During the day it is often very hot, even though the temperature drops a lot after the sunset.
On the hottest days of the year, the temperature typically reaches 38/39 °C (100/102 °F). The record heat is 41 °C (106 °F), recorded in August 2012. In 2019, the temperature reached 40.5 °C (105 °F) in late June.

Best Time

To visit Daroca, you can choose the month of May and the period from mid-September to mid-October. Those who can stand the heat can choose July and August, but they must be prepared to stroll around the city in very hot weather.
The temperature range between day and night is often high, so it is useful to dress in layers and to bring something warm: even in midsummer, you may want a sweatshirt for the evening.
