In Skukuza, the climate is
subtropical, with a hot, quite rainy period from November to March and a cooler, drier period from May to August, when there are strong differences between night and day and it can get cold at night. On the other hand, it can get very hot during the day from mid-August to April.
The Skukuza Rest Camp is located in the north-east of the Republic of South Africa, and at 280 meters (920 feet) above sea level. We are in the southern part of the
Kruger National Park, 12 km (7 mi) away from the Paul Kruger Gate, one of the park's entrances. There is an airport nearby, from which meteorological data is taken.
The Kruger park extends in the eastern part of South Africa, on the border with Mozambique, up to the far north, to the Limpopo river, beyond which lies Zimbabwe. Most of the park is located at an altitude between 200 and 500 meters (650 to 1,600 ft) above sea level, although in the south there are hills that reach 800 meters (2,600 ft).
