The climate of Alexander Bay is
subtropical desert, with mild temperatures but very rare rainfall.
The village is located in the far northwest of South Africa, on the coast. Beyond the Orange River, which marks the border with Namibia, lies the town of Oranjemund.
A cold current flows on the sea, so the climate is cool and arid.
However, a hot wind can blow from the desert all year round: in winter it blows more often, but in summer it brings higher temperatures.
