The climate of Kurgan is
continental (according to the Köppen classification, humid continental climate with warm summer - Dfb), with cold winters, during which the temperature is normally below freezing, and warm summers.
Kurgan is a city of 330,000 inhabitants, the capital of the oblast' of the same name, located in Western Siberia, on the banks of the Tobol River, and at 55 degrees north latitude.
