Climate in Rioja (Peru)

Rioja's climate is tropical, tempered by altitude. There is no real dry season, however, the rains decrease a bit from June to August, the austral winter, when night temperatures also decrease a bit.
The city is located in northern Peru, at 6 degrees south latitude, 800 meters (2,6525 feet) above sea level, on the eastern edge of the Andes. We are in the department of San Martín, whose capital, Moyobamba, is located 20 km (12 mi) to the east.
