Climate chart - Pisco
The climate of Pisco is subtropical desert, with a warm season from December to April, and a cool, humid and cloudy season from June to October, with May and November as transitional months.
The city is located in southwestern Peru, in the Ica region, on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, about 200 km (125 mi) south of Lima.
As happens in the capital, the Humboldt Current makes the climate extremely dry, but produces fog and low clouds, especially in winter.
Here too, during El Niño years, both the sea and the air temperatures increase. In 1997-98, many heat records were broken. In January 1998, the temperature reached 34 °C (93 °F), while in February the daily average was 26.9 °C (80.4 °F).
All year round, but especially in winter, moderate to strong winds can blow, called paracas, which are able to carry dust from the Ica desert.
