Climate chart - Marcona
The climate of San Juan de Marcona is subtropical desert, with a warm season from December to April and a cool, humid and cloudy season from June to September.
The small city is located in southern Peru, in the Ica region, on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, at 15 degrees south latitude. About 70 km (43 mi) to the north are the famous Nazca Lines, while 40 km (25 mi) to the southeast is Puerto de Lomas.
The wind blows moderate from the ocean all year round, increasing the feeling of coolness.
As happens in Lima, the Humboldt Current makes the climate extremely dry, but produces fog and low clouds, especially in winter.
Here too, during El Niño years, both the sea and the air temperatures increase.
