Climate chart - Juanjui
The climate of Juanjuí is tropical, hot all year round. There is no real dry season, however, the rains become rarer from June to August, the austral winter, when night temperatures also decrease a bit.
The city is located in the north of Peru, at 7 degrees south latitude, at an altitude of 300 meters (985 feet), in the department of San Martín, on the banks of the Huallaga River. We are at the foot of the Andes. To the southwest is the Rio Abiseo National Park, whose altitude ranges from 350 to 4,200 meters (1,150 to 13,800 feet) above sea level.
Occasionally, in the austral winter, especially from late June to late July, there may be slightly cool periods, perhaps of a day or two, in which the maximum temperature can drop down to 23/25 °C (73/77 °F).
