Weather and climate in Asuncion (Paraguay)

The climate of Asunción is subtropical, with very mild winters (from May to August), and very hot, muggy and rainy summers (from November to March).
The city is the capital of Paraguay and is located in the south of the country, on the border with Argentina, at 25 degrees south latitude. The Pilcomayo River marks the border with Argentina north of the city, and joins the Paraguay River near Asunción. Across the border is the Argentine town of Clorinda.
The rains are abundant in the hot period: precipitation exceeds 100 millimeters (4 inches) per month from October to May.
