Climate chart - Sibi
The climate of Sibi is subtropical desert, with a very mild winter, an extremely hot period from late April to June, and a period, from July to September, partially affected by the Indian monsoon.
The city is located in south-central Pakistan, in the province of Balochistan, outside the Indus Valley, at 29 degrees north latitude and 130 meters (425 feet) above sea level. To the west are mountains that exceed 2,000 meters (6,500 feet).
In winter, from December to February, nights are cool, and can sometimes be cold when cold air comes from the north. In January 2013, the temperature dropped to -4.5 °C (24 °F).
The hottest time of the year is from April to June, when there can be intense heat waves. We are in the hottest area of Pakistan, which also includes the cities of Jacobabad, Nawabshah and Sukkur, which are located further to the south. The temperature reached 53 °C (127.4 °F) in late May 2010 and 52.6 (126.7 °F) in early June 2003.
From July to September, the Indian monsoon period, the wind from the south slightly lowers the temperature, which however remains very high, since the sea is far away. The rains are rare, but at times they can be intense, resulting in floods.
