Climate chart - Sargodha
The climate of Sargodha is subtropical semi-arid, with quite dry, very mild winters (but during which it is often cold at night), and very hot summers, which are also rainy because of the Indian monsoon.
The city is located in northern Pakistan, in the Punjab province, on the Potohar plateau, at 190 meters (625 feet) above sea level and at 31 degrees north latitude. About 40 km (25 mi) to the southeast flows the Chenab River, a tributary of the Indus.
We are in the northern part of the Indo-Gangetic plain, which is a very polluted area, especially from October to February, when air stagnates more easily.
In winter and spring, some rain may occur, brought by disturbances of remote Mediterranean origin.
In winter, from December to February (but sometimes also in November and March), nights are often cold. On the coldest nights of the year, the temperature can drop to the freezing point or a little below.
Also, from November to February, fog can form at night and in the early morning. Generally, the fog dissolves during the day, however, in these situations, especially from mid-December to mid-January, it can sometimes be cold even during the day, and there may be periods in which the maximum remain around 8/10 °C (46/50 °F). In January 2013, there was even a day with a maximum of 6.5 °C (43.5 °F).
On the other hand, from April to early July, before the monsoon, it is very hot. In the hottest periods, the temperature can reach or exceed 45 °C (113 °F). Generally, the temperature does not reach the extreme peaks of south-central Pakistan, however, in June 2007 it reached 51 °C (124 °F).
From July to September, the Indian monsoon period, the temperature decreases, while the humidity increases. The rains are quite rare, but at times they can be intense, resulting in floods.

Sargodha

Best Time

The best time to visit Sargodha is from late October to mid-March, being the coolest within the dry season. It must be said that this is the time of the year when pollution is highest. Also, in the middle of winter, usually from mid-December to late January, it can get a little cold and fog can be persistent, so the latter period can be avoided.
