Climate chart - Panjgur
The climate of Panjgur (formerly Bannajbur) is subtropical desert, with mild winters and very hot summers.
The small town is located in southwestern Pakistan, in Balochistan, in a valley at almost 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) above sea level and at 27 degrees north latitude.
Winter is mild, however, at night it is quite cold, in addition, sometimes there can be cold periods, with night temperatures below freezing. In February 2008, the temperature dropped to -7 °C (19.5 °F).
The rare rains occur in winter and spring, brought by the depressions of the Persian Gulf, or in summer, even though they are very rare because we are in the part of Pakistan where the Indian monsoon practically does not arrive. However, in July and August, occasionally there can be heavy rains concentrated in two or three days.
Despite the altitude, in summer it is very hot, and from May to August the temperature can reach 45 °C (113 °F).
