Climate chart - Nawabshah (Pakistan)
The climate of Nawabshah is subtropical desert, with a very mild or pleasantly warm winter, an extremely hot period from April to June, and a period, from July to September, partially affected by the Indian monsoon.
The city is located in southern Pakistan, in the Sindh province, in the Indus valley, at 26 degrees north latitude.
In winter, from December to February, nights are cool, and can sometimes be cold when cold air comes from the north. In 2008, the temperature dropped to -2.5 °C (27.5 °F) in January and -3.5 °C (25.7 °F) in February. In addition, fog can sometimes form in winter, at night and in the early morning.
The hottest time of the year is from April to June, when there can be intense heat waves. We are in the hottest area of Pakistan, which also includes the cities of Sibi, Jacobabad and Sukkur, which are further north. The temperature reached 52.2 °C (126 °F) in May 2016 and 51 °C (124 °F) in June 2011.
From July to September, the Indian monsoon period, the wind from the south slightly lowers the temperature, which however remains very high, since the sea is not very close. The rains are rare, but at times they can be intense, resulting in floods.

Nawabshah is exposed to the risk of tropical cyclones, which can bring abundant rains outside the monsoon period, although the risk is greatest in Karachi and on the coast. Cyclones form from May to November, and are more frequent and intense at the beginning of the period (mid-May-early June) and less at the end (October), while from July to September, when the monsoon is at the height of activity in India, they generally do not occur. In November, they typically affect the southern part of India and the Arabian Peninsula, but do not reach Pakistan. Particularly intense cyclones hit Pakistan in May 1999 and in June 2010 (the latter was called cyclone Phet).
Best Time
The best time to visit Nawabshah is from mid-November to mid-February, being the coolest within the dry season. Sometimes it can get cold at night, more likely from mid-December to mid-February.
