The climate of Niamey is tropical semi-arid, with a rainy season from June to September.
The city is the capital of Niger and is located in the south-west of the country, on the banks of the Niger River, at an altitude of 200 meters (655 feet).
We are in the Sahel area, which receives rainfall in the summer, brought by the African monsoon. The hottest time of the year is from April to June, before the rains.
