The climate of Windhoek is
sub-tropical arid, tempered by altitude, with a hot, rainy season from December to March and a dry season from May to October, within which there is a cool period from May to August. In the latter, at night the temperature can drop a few degrees below freezing. During the day, it can get very hot from September to March.
The city is the capital of Namibia and is located in the center of the country, at 1,700 meters (5,600 feet) above sea level.
