The climate of Errachidia (formerly Ksar Es-Souk) is subtropical desert, with mild winters and very hot, sunny summers.
The city is located in central Morocco, at 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) above sea level.
The Atlas Mountains to the north block cold fronts, so snow and frost are very rare despite the altitude.
