Average weather, temperature, rainfall, sunshine hours
Agadir-Al Massira Airport is located approximately 20 km (12 mi) away from the coast. Since a cold current flows in the Atlantic Ocean, while in the interior the mainland heats up a lot under the sun's rays, temperatures at the airport are slightly higher than in Agadir and the coast. In summer, very hot days, in which temperatures exceed 40 °C (104 °F), are more frequent.
In the worst cases, they can last a few days, as happened, for example, in July 2009, when the maximum temperature exceeded 46 °C (115 °F) for 8 days in a row, or in August 2013, when it exceeded 42 °C (108 °F) for 6 days in a row. In July 2009, the temperature reached 49 °C (120 °F), and in July 2020, as high as 49.5 °C (121 °F).
However, these data can be taken into account to get an idea of the climate of
Agadir, a city for which we do not have up-to-date data.
