Climate chart - Veracruz
The climate of Veracruz is tropical, with a pleasantly warm winter and a hot, muggy and rainy summer.
Heroica Veracruz is located on the coast of the Bay of Campeche, at the 19th parallel.
Winter is generally quite warm, but sometimes, from mid-November to mid-March, there can be cool and windy days, when the wind blows from the United States. The temperature can drop to 10 °C (50 °F) at night, and can remain around 20 °C (68 °F) (and occasionally even below) in the daytime.
The hottest time of the year is the one preceding the summer rains: in April and in May, the temperature can reach or exceed 40 °C (104 °F).
From June to November (but with a higher probability from August to October), there is the risk of hurricanes.
The sea temperature is high enough for swimming all year round, although it is cooler from January to March.

Veracruz

Best Time

The best time to visit Veracruz is the dry season, from November to May. In April and May, however, it can be very hot, while in November a hurricane can still arrive. You can therefore choose the period from December to March, even if it can sometimes get cool, so it will be useful to bring a sweatshirt and a light jacket.
