Hermosillo, where it's located

The climate of Hermosillo is arid sub-tropical, with a mild or pleasantly warm winter from December to February (but with nights a little cold), and a long, very hot summer from April to October, within which there is a sultry and rainy period from July to September.
The city is located in the state of Sonora, at an altitude of 200 meters (650 feet), and 95 km (60 mi) away from the coast of the Gulf of California. We are in the Sonoran desert. Even in the middle of winter, temperatures can reach 30 °C (86 °F), however, there can be short periods when it drops to 3/4 °C (37/39 °F) at night, and sometimes even around 0 °C (32 °F).
The temperature can reach 40 °C (104 °F) even in April and October. On the hottest days of the year, in July and sometimes in June, it can exceed 45 °C (113 °F). In June 2014, 49.5 °C (121 °F) were reached.
From July to September (and sometimes in October), humid air masses from the south can bring some rain, they also increase humidity, making the heat oppressive.
From June to November, but with a higher probability from August to October, Hermosillo can be affected by hurricanes of the Pacific Ocean, though they generally arrive weakened.

Best Time

The best time to visit Hermosillo is from mid-November to late February, being a dry period and in which it is not too hot during the day, although it can sometimes be cold at night.
