The climate of the islets of St Brandon (or Cargados Carajos) is tropical, with a hot, rainy period from December to April and a relatively cool, dry period from June to October.
The islets are located about 400 km (245 mi) north-east of the main island of Mauritius, at the 16th parallel south, and being closer to the Equator, they have a somewhat warmer climate.
