The climate of Mopti is tropical semi-arid, with a relatively cool season from December to mid-February and a rainy season that runs roughly from June to September. The hottest time of the year goes from March to May, before the rains arrive.
The city is located in Mali, at an altitude of 270 meters (885 feet), in the area of the "Inner Niger Delta".
In winter, the Harmattan, the dust-laden wind of the Sahara, can blow.
