Climate chart - Langkawi
The climate in Langkawi is tropical, with a dry season from December to February or March and a rainy season from April to November.
Pulau Langkawi is an island, belonging to the archipelago of the same name, located in the northwest of Malaysia, in the state of Kedah, at 6 degrees north latitude.
The main inhabited center of the island is the town of Kuah.
Slightly to the north is the Thai island of Ko Tarutao.
We are on the western coast of Peninsular Malaysia, the one overlooking the Strait of Malacca and hit by the southwest monsoon, which blows between June and October. Instead, from December to February, the northeast monsoon determines a dry season on this side. In fact, we are in the only area of Malaysia where there is a clear dry season.

In this area, it's hot even in the "winter" period, with highs around 31.5/32 °C (89 °F) in December and January, however, since in this period the wind blows from the interior, the humidity is slightly lower than in the rest of the year.
From February to April the heat increases, and during the day the highest temperatures of the year are reached, sometimes even 37/38 °C (99/100 °F) in March and April.
After 2000, the temperature never dropped below 20 °C (68 °F), in fact, the extreme minimum was 21 °C (70 °F), recorded in February 2014.
As in the rest of Malaysia, the sea is warm all year round.

When to go

The best time to visit Langkawi is from December to February (but usually also to mid-March), being the dry season. It must be said that it can sometimes get very hot.
