The climate of Tôlanaro (formerly Fort-Dauphin) is tropical, with a warmer period from December to March and a cooler period from June to September.
The city is located in the extreme southeast of Madagascar. On the east coast of the country, there is no dry season because the south-east trade winds bring rain even in the austral winter.
