The climate of Ghadames is subtropical desert, with mild winters, during which it can get cold at night, and very hot, sunny summers.
The city is located in the extreme west of Libya, in an oasis on the border with Algeria and Tunisia, at an altitude of 350 meters (1,150 feet).
