Climate in Makindu (Kenya)

Makindu's climate is tropical, warm all year round, though mitigated by the altitude. The rains are not abundant, and there is a well-defined dry season from June to September, in the austral winter (we are in fact south of the equator).
The city is located in southern Kenya, at 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) above sea level. Nearby is the Chyulu Hills National Park, where the altitude reaches 2,188 meters (7,178 feet).
To the southwest is Amboseli National Park, and beyond the border with Tanzania is Mount Kilimanjaro.
