Climate chart - Kokshetau
The climate of Kokshetau is semi-arid continental, with very cold winters and relatively warm summers.

Kokshetau (Kökşetaw, Kókshetaý, formerly Kokchetav) is a city of 175,000 inhabitants located in northern Kazakhstan, at 235 meters above sea level and 53 degrees north latitude.
To the south of the city are hills. About 55 km (35 mi) to the southeast is Mount Kokshe, from which the city takes its name, 947 meters (3,106 feet) high, within the Burabay National Park.
We are in an area that includes several lakes, including Lake Kopa, which is located on the edge of the city.
Further south, but still in the region (oblys) of Aqmola, of which Kokshetau is the capital, is the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, which however has its own administration.
