The climate of Abidjan is tropical, with a hotter, dry period from December to February and a rainy period from March to November. The rains reach a maximum in May and June, while they decrease significantly in August, even though the sky is often cloudy.
Abidjan is the main city and the ancient capital of the Ivory Coast, and is located in the southeast, on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean.
The harmattan, the dust-laden wind, blows in the dry period, but less often than in the north-central of the country.
