Climate chart - Enna
The climate of Enna is temperate, with quite cold winters and warm to hot summers.
The city is the highest provincial capital in Italy and is located in the center of Sicily, on a small plateau at an altitude of 930 metres (3,050 feet).
Around the city are areas of lower elevations, which are milder in winter and hotter in summer. The most recent part of the city, Enna Bassa, is located at an altitude of 650-700 metres (2,100-2,300 ft). Lake Pergusa is located at 675 meters (2,215 ft), while the artificial lakes Morello di Villarosa and Nicoletti are located at 380 meters (1,245 ft).
Fog is frequent, especially in the cold semester. In fact, Enna is the foggiest provincial capital in Italy.
The winter, from December to February, is quite cold, however, it depends on the period.
There are mild periods, in which Atlantic currents prevail, during which there can also be rainy days.
Fog can form both in periods of stable weather and on rainy days.
On the other hand, during cold spells, the temperature can drop below freezing, and it can even snow.
Snow in Enna is decidedly more frequent than in the other Sicilian cities, given the altitude. Typically, at least one snowfall occurs every year.
In the last thirty years, the extreme minimum has been -5 °C (23 °F), even though in March 1949 the temperature reached -7 °C (19.5 °F).

Enna

The summer, from June to August, is hot and sunny, with rare thunderstorms in the afternoon.
