Climate in Omidiyeh (Iran)

The climate of Omidiyeh is subtropical desert (according to the Köppen classification, hot desert climate - BWh), with mild winters and extremely hot, sunny summers. Precipitation, scarce, occurs mostly from November to April.
Omidiyeh is a city of 67,000 inhabitants located in the south-west of Iran, in the province of Khuzestan, at almost 31 degrees north latitude. About 70 km (45 mi) to the south is the coast of the Persian Gulf, while 135 km (85 mi) to the southwest is the border with Iraq. To the east lies the Zagros mountain range.
