Climate chart - Yamdena
The climate of Yamdena is tropical, hot all year round, with a dry season from July to October and a rainy season from December to May.
The island is located in the southeast of Indonesia and belongs to the Tanimbar Islands, which in turn are part of the Moluccas (Maluku). The main center is Saumlaki. We are about 7 degrees south latitude.
Temperatures are slightly lower in the Southern Hemisphere winter (June to August), when the southeast monsoon prevails and temperatures can occasionally drop down to 16/17 °C (61/63 °F), and slightly higher before the rainy season (in October and November).
In the warm period of the southern hemisphere (between November and May, but with a greater probability between December and mid-April), the Tanimbar Islands can be affected by tropical cyclones, although most cyclones pass further south, over Australia.
