Climate chart - Rajkot
The climate of Rajkot is tropical, with a rainy season from mid-June to September, due to the monsoon, and a dry season from October to mid-June. Since the dry season is long, the landscape is barren, moreover, during some years the monsoon lasts less than normal, causing drought, while in other years it is more intense and can cause floods.
The city is located in western India, at 22 degrees north latitude, in the state of Gujarat and in the peninsular region of Saurashtra. About 65 km (40 mi) northwest is the Gulf of Kutch, where the Rukmavati River flows into the Arabian Sea.
From March to mid-June, before the monsoon, it is very hot. In the hottest periods, the temperature can reach 45 °C (113 °F).
On the other hand, nights are cool from November to February, and can sometimes be even a bit cold when air masses come from the north.

Rajkot, Swaminarayan Temple

Rajkot is in the path of tropical cyclones. Typically, cyclones occur from April to December, with two intensity peaks before and after the monsoon (from late April to early June and in October-November). Gujarat is rarely directly affected by cyclones, however, it was directly affected by cyclone ARB 02 in early June 1998, by tropical depression ARB 02 in late June 2015, by Cyclone Vayu in mid-June 2019, and by cyclone Tauktae in mid-May 2021.
