The climate of Kota is subtropical, with a rainy season that runs from approximately mid-June to late September, due to the monsoon, and a dry season from October to mid-June.
The city is located in north-central India, in the state of Rajasthan, at 25 degrees north latitude and 270 meters (885 feet) above sea level.
Since the dry season is long, the landscape is arid. Anyway, we are in the southeast of Rajasthan, the rainiest part of the state, apart from the Aravalli Mountains.
From March to mid-June, before the monsoon, it is very hot. In the hottest periods, the temperature can reach or exceed 45 °C (113 °F). It reached 48.4 °C (119 °F) in May 2010, 48.3 °C (118.9 °F) in June 2019 and 48.2 °C (118.8 °F) in May 2016.
On the other hand, nights are cool from November to February, and can sometimes be even a bit cold when air masses come from the north. In December 2019, the temperature dropped to 2.8 °C (37 °F).

The best time to visit Kota is from mid-November to February, being the coolest within the dry season. Sometimes, it can get a bit cold at night, more likely from mid-December to mid-February.
