Climate chart - Kochi
The climate of Kochi (formerly Cochin) is tropical, with a rainy season from April to November and a dry season from December to March. The rains are very frequent and abundant in the monsoon period, from June to October, with a maximum at the beginning of the period (June-July).
The city is located in southwest India, in the state of Kerala, at 10 degrees north latitude, on the coast of the Laccadive Sea. We are in an area characterized by lagoons, where the water of the rivers that flow down from the Western Ghats mixes with that of the sea.
The temperature is high all year round and is quite stable, however, it is a bit higher from March to May, before the monsoon, when it can reach 35/36 °C (95/97 °F).

Kochi

Kochi is in the path of tropical cyclones. Typically, cyclones occur from April to December, although the extreme south of India is normally affected only in November and December. In May, a cyclone can occasionally form off the southwest coast, on the Lakshadweep Islands, which can bring heavy rains to Kerala before moving north. In any case, since the sea is warm all year round, in theory they can also form from January to March, perhaps in light form (as tropical storms).

Best Time

The best time to visit Kochi is from December to March, as it is the dry season. In March, the heat is a bit more intense than in February, and there may be some more showers. In December, especially in the first half, sometimes a tropical cyclone can still pass, although this rarely happens.
