Climate chart - Bangalore
Bangalore (or Bengaluru) is the capital of the state of Karnataka and is located in southern India, at 13 degrees north latitude, on a plateau at 920 meters (3,000 feet) above sea level.
The climate of Bangalore is tropical, tempered by the altitude, with a rainy season from June to October, due to the monsoon, and a dry season from December to April.
In May, before the monsoon, and more rarely in March and April, showers and thunderstorms occur, which gradually become more frequent. In the first part of the monsoon (June-July), the rains are not abundant, because most of them are discharged on the western Ghats, the mountain range near the southwestern coast of India.
From mid-October, the north-east wind begins to blow, which in the first period, until November, still brings a bit of rain. This is the so-called retreating monsoon, which generally does not bring heavy rains to Bangalore, except during some years, such as in November 2015, when 290 mm (11.4 in) of rain fell in a month and widespread flooding occurred.
In winter, from November to February, nights are cool. Occasionally, the temperature can drop to 10/12 °C (50/54 °F). At the airport, the coldest record is 8.8 °C (47.8 °F), set in January 1993.
From March to May, before the monsoon, it is very hot. The record is 39.2 °C (102.6 °F), set in late April 2016.

Bangalore

Bangalore is in the path of tropical cyclones. Cyclones typically occur from April to December, although southern India is normally affected only from mid-October to December. Since we are far from the coast, the city is not hit by cyclones at full strength, however, they can bring heavy rainfall.

Best Time

The best months to visit Bangalore are December and January, as they are the least hot within the dry season. November is generally a good month, in fact the temperatures are among the lowest of the year, moreover it does not rain a lot, even if it depends on the years. In February and March, it is still the dry season but it is hotter (albeit less than at sea level). In April, it usually doesn't rain much, but it is the hottest month of the year.
