Climate chart - Conakry
Conakry's climate is tropical, with a dry season from December to April, and a rainy season due to the African monsoon that runs roughly from mid-May to mid-November. The rains are particularly frequent and abundant in July and August, when it rains almost every day and more than one meter (40 inches) of rain falls per month. We are in fact in the wettest area of Guinea.
In the dry period, the harmattan, the dry and dust-laden wind from the Sahara, can blow.
The city is the capital of Guinea and is located on the coast, on a small island, the island of Tombo, which is located near a small peninsula (Kaloum) and is part of the Los islands.
