Climate chart - Banjul (Gambia)
Climate chart - Banjul (Gambia)

Banjul's climate is tropical, with a long dry season from November to May and a rainy season from June to October.
The city is the capital of the Gambia and is located on the coast, on an island (called St. Mary's Island) between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gambia River estuary.
The Banjul metropolitan area includes cities that are located on the mainland and are part of the Kanifing district.
Due to the influence of the ocean, temperatures are more stable than in the interior of the Gambia, however, the hottest period, at least during the day, goes from February to April. In May, the temperatures drop a little but the humidity increases, even if the rains have not yet started, because the wind begins to blow directly from the west, from the sea, while in the previous months it came from the north.
